You shouldn't need any external software aside from whatever is needed for your computer to recognize the controller. The game natively recognizes Dinput controllers now as long as your PC recognizes them. You don't need x360ce for gamecube controllers with Rivals. when it's not plugged in (like the WiiU adapter.), send a screenshot of both. We've tested a few tons of different controllers at this point, but we still want to support as many as possible. It works very well. We're continuing to implement controller support for RoA and we need your help. Honestly I would recommend the xbox controller. I have no idea if this has helped or not. I just found it harder to dash dance and wave dash with it because I was much more familiar with the xbox controller over the ps4. Hell I even know some players out there use the keyboard. I honestly believe you could us the ps4 controller if that is what you are very much accustomed to. As I said, I'm a nerd so I had all of these available to me. I have definitely used the playstation controller the least out of the other two so it did not feel natural at all.Īll in all you just kind of have to try them out to see what you like. I constantly found myself holding diagonals when I didn't want to and screwing up my wave dashes because of the angles I was holding the stick. It felt very similar to the xbox but having the thumb stick further towards the center of the controller felt odd for me. That nagging feeling in my head also went away because I knew I was directly plugged in with my xbox controller and was getting a straight shot at my controls being registered. It just felt easier to slide around with the bumpers on the xbox controller compared to the gamecube sticks.

I then switched to the xbox controller and found my movement improved. I tested the hell out of it and I knew it was correct but I still found myself blaming the controller for bad inputs. Using adapters and running configs just stuck in my mind that I wasn't getting true 1:1 input control.

I didn't trust the drivers and manipulation I needed to do in order to get the controller to work. Although it felt perfect for a smash game like rivals I just couldn't believe in it. Coming from playing melee and beyond I thought the gamecube controller would be the obvious fit. I'm a nerd so I tried gamecube, xbox, and the ps4 controller.
